I’m not much for landscapes but Paul & Jill’s work on Flypaper makes me feel so inspired and like I can take my extremely ordinary and not at all interesting landscapes and make them interesting and deep. His Flypaper Textures can make the most mundane landscape moody and enchanting. Their B&As are far more impressive than mine will ever be but I thought I’d try my hand at his techniques. Go to his site here and scroll down to the photograph called ‘winter wheat treescape’. It is the most spectacular image of a tree EVER and I find myself so drawn to it every day.

Recipe (using Flypaper Textures) starting with the base layer first:
- Lavender skies ‘multiply’ mode 53%
- Leaden Hall ‘overlay’ 50%
- Lime plaster ‘overlay’ 100%
- Lost void ‘overlay’ 100%
- Duplicate of background ‘soft light’ 66%
