Vintage Happiness

What a thrill today was with my little guys. Messin’ around down on the beach next to our house. A great lesson in trusting my instincts. As I was shooting away, I was very doubtful that anything useful was being taken but when I loaded them into my computer, it was like magic as I realised that though the sun was shining bright and I thought I had lost my mind, I was actually doing all the right things to take the photos I had in my head.

{Recipe for above: Florabella Vintage Actions ‘Vintage Haze’ + ‘Retro Vintage’ + Florabella textures ‘Vintage Mink’ (erased the texture from my son) + ‘Grunged edges’ overlay}

{Recipe for above: One Willow’s Retro Candy Presets ‘liquorice’ with an added vignette}

{Recipe for above: Florabella Vintage Actions in ‘sweet vintage’ + ‘retro vintage’ + ‘grunged edges’ overlay from the Florabella Textures pack II

{Recipe for above: CoffeeShop’s free action ‘Johnna’s Memories of Sunshine’ overlayed with the original photo at 50% opacity, ‘soft light’ mode}

we know you got amazing pictures the question is did they??? :)

P.s what exactly do you do with your pictures you take amazing ones on a daily basis – when I take a good one of my daughter all that goes through my head is where do I hang this one, running out of space :) You must have thousands do they just get stored away??

@louise: ha ha love that question! They get hung on the wall of my website :) My living room is actually bare bare bare. I’m afraid to get anything done for the living room because I know that the next photo I take will be better than the one before it. I’m never satisfied :)

elizabethhalford - February 19, 2010 - 9:28 pm

@Paola: Thank you! The borders are ‘blog-its’ from the album cafe. Top square over there in my sidebar —>

i love the vintageness of these photos, goes great with vintage cameras! i really enjoy looking at all of your photo editing and hope to learn it and be able to use action sets like you do. i have the hardest time figuring out if a photo would look better in color, b&w, brightened, more vintage, sepie, it’s soo hard!
