I’ve hired a new blogger! And he’s a nerd!

Listen up, People! I really thought it was time to get you some fresh stuff to read here at elizabethhalford.com.

I’ve brought on Peter Pechacek (pe-ha’-check) and you’re gonna LOVE him cuz he’s a nerd! Peter will be here every Tuesday giving you all the techie information you can handle and answering the questions that I just can’t answer. Question about the emotions involved in photographing pots and pans? Me. DPI? That’s got Peter written allover it!

So here’s a little info you need to know about Peter:

An Oklahoma native, Peter Pechacek received his first camera from Santa when he was eight years old. That event spawned a beast obsessed with photography. While his friends splurged on video games, Peter would spend his allowance and gift money on new cameras, film, and processing. A sponge for knowledge, Peter exhausted the public library’s photography inventory fairly quickly. Fortunately, the age of internet was not too far away.

Peter’s professional career was launched into the fast paced world of event photography (weddings, concerts, and parties); but his real passion was discovered after his education at the University of Oklahoma when he decided to merge his love of movies with his love of photography. Peter eventually relocated to Florida to attend Full Sail University earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Film Production. After graduation he taught photography and lighting classes for Orlando based Direct Art Studios. Peter currently resides in Orlando, FL with his wife and works as a freelance cinematographer. He continues to shoot the occasional wedding, concerts, and also headshots for his actor friends. To satisfy his photographic creative needs, Peter is working on a series of photos inspired by Zuckers-Abrahams films in the genre of comedic literal translations.

Even though Digital photography is his main focus, Peter continues to dabble with film and processing for experimentation. He enjoys the anomalies and “happy accidents” that only occur with film and then attempt to recreate the effect in the digital realm.

In addition, Peter is an award winning author and screenwriter. In 2010, he and his business partner formed their first production company Altamonte Pictures. They currently have six films in development along with a TV series and a web series. He enjoys food and loves to cook and promote the Hunter-Gatherer philosophy.

Welcome, Peter! Looking forward to your first post on Tuesday.
