Freebie Thursday – Totally Rad Action for Facebook Photos

I haven’t tried this action yet because it’s hot of the press. But anyone using Facebook knows that it totally reeks at uploading photos. They’re horrific, grainy, low-res shadows of what your photo used to be. But Totally Rad says they can help with this action. Come back and let me know what you think!

Freebie Thursday – Edge Darkening for LR3

Lightroom 3′s vignetting tools are way different than they were in LR2. So naturally, preset makers are having to rethink some of their presets and you will start finding presets which are for LR3, not LR2 and vice versa. Today’s preset is from Matt Kloskowski of Lightroomkillertips.com and it’s called ‘Lightroom 3 Edge Darkening’. {CLICK HERE} to head over and get it.

How to use collages, templates and storyboards {freebies!}

Melissa C. emailed me this week asking about my work with collages. I thought it was a pretty important topic for us to cover so here goes!

{Types}

There are a few different types:

Collages and storyboards are one photo with many different images within it. Like this:

This storyboard is sized 10x30 for printing

Then there are web-ready templates for blogging which are the same look but they’re automatically a decent size for blogging, Facebook and emailing. Here’s one I like:

{Method}

You can make your own templates which can be a time consuming venture. And it’s so hard to get things straight and proportionate and who needs the hassle? There are packs you can buy and free ones allover the web. I’ll tell you my personal faves below.

Each template will work in a different way. The Album Cafe uses actions which come with the templates to fill them. So does MCP Actions.
