Free Damask Texture

A few weeks ago, I used this free damask texture layer to replace the wall in the image above. They come in many different colours, too! Enjoy!

that is very neat! thanks for sharing!

Fantastic! Delicate, gentle, seamless addition to the image.

Beautiful……forgive my ignorance but how do you import this into the original image?

  • elizabethhalford

@Karen: well, first I use the quick selection tool (in Photoshop) to select all around the girl and once the selection is perfect, I do ctrl+j to make it into a new layer. Then you can edit the background without affecting the foreground. If you want to know more about this sort of process, you can check out this tutorial I did in great detail about separating your image into layers for editing: http://www.elizabethhalford.com/2010/01/19/how-i-did-it-tuesday/

Thank you, so helpful. How I wish I had found your site before my PSE 30 day trial expired…..

I had tried using textures and wallpapers before but never really been inspired or amazed by the results but when Elizabeth posted this, I thought ‘Oh I have to have a go at that!’.
