Can I take you out to dinner, put you up in a hotel and then teach you everything I know about sales? Pretty please?
I’ve been asked for years when/if I’m ever going to do an actual workshop face-to-face. I’ve been mulling over what I really believe in and what photographers really need. And the answer is quite resounding: you need someone to hold your hand and show you how to make money! You’ve got the skills {hopefully} and the drive, but you need the real honest-to-flipping-goodness tools to sell your work and make that cash.
The answer to this is in-person sales. All the way. There’s no other way to provide a top of the line service that clients are willing to pay for. But how? When? Where? What price? What will you say if they pitch a fit about your prices? All of this will be answered in one brilliant day. Not online, but in person. Like ME + YOU making friends and
SORTING.
THIS.
OUT.
- When: The workshop is 10th March, 2013
- Where: The DeVere New Place hotel in Southampton. I’ve booked a newly renovated room in the middle of their garden. Lots of glass, beautiful light, vaulted ceiling. We’re gonna be really happy hunkering down there for the day!
- Who: This is only open to 12 deligates. I want to keep it intimate.
- Price: The workshop is £550 and this is what you get…
{What you get}
- You will arrive on the evening of the 9th. My husband is pretty excited and wants to offer everyone a ride from the train station if needed. In the new Gracie May Photography MINI no less! So if you send me your times when you know them, that can be arranged.
- In the evening, I’m gonna take you all out to dinner so we can get to know eachother and let our hair down
- The price includes one night at the hotel so you can wake up fresh in the morning and walk just a few yards to our beautiful meeting room.
- In the morning, we’ll have breakfast. All the hotel’s ammenities are available to you if you like to wake with a workout in the gym.
- The day will begin around 10 and consist of lots of teaching about the who, what, when, where and -most importantly- the HOW of in person sales and making money after the session
- There will be slots for discussions, questions and fleshing out these concepts for your own business.
- I’ve got guest speakers who are real photographers here in the UK who are already selling their work in person to come tell you how they’re doing it, too!
- I will show you all the available tools that you hear about online. All those iPad apps that you want to see in real life? I’ve got ‘em!
- All refreshments and lunch are provided of course. You really just need to bring yourself!
- No worries about taking notes. Just soak it all in and I’ll send you away with a copy of my presentation. I’m even making an app for you so you can take me with you to your viewing sessions to help squash those nerves and make it work.
So many fantastic vendors have donated wonderful gifts to you for a goody bag that will make you squeal! Actions, presets, discounts for online classes {like Brooke Snow}, eBooks, templates, a gorgeous satchel…loads! And there will be a really big drawing for higher value items during the day.
There will be a camera crew filming the entire event so don’t register if you have any reason to not want to be seen on camera {like you’re in the witness protection program}.
The day will end around 4pm and we’ll gladly give you a lift to the train if needed!
{Who it’s for}
This workshop isn’t for everyone. If you are already a photographer with even a small client base, you’re in a good position to start implementing in person sales. And if you’re completely new, you may want to come to get your feet on the right path from the get-go. But I will be teaching from the perspective that you are already a photographer who knows your style, can produce consistent and beautiful work but you just have trouble making money after the session. This is about helping you stop the shoot-and-burn sessions and start giving your clients something to put on their walls and something for you to put in your bank account.
We will not be talking about setting pricing, how to make a contract, editing, shooting or anything that doesn’t directly pertain to selling in person.
