“What do you desire? What makes you itch?”

“If you really love what you do -it doesn’t matter what it is- you can eventually become a master of it. The only way to become a master of something is to be really with it. And then you’ll be able to get a good fee for whatever it is. So don’t worry too much. Somebody’s interested in everything. Anything you’re interested in,  you’ll find others who are.” -Alan Watts

This video is so powerful for me. So very powerful. What’s stopping you from doing what you really want to be doing? Voice it in the comments below. The surest way to get rid of a fear is to out it. Expose it to the light of day.

Interesting. How ever I can’t help wonder what our world would be like if this was everyone’s mentality. Who would choose to be a garbage man or work on a assembly line of sorts. People choose these job’s to provide for their families not so they can fulfill long time desires of happiness. I truly have more respect for the person who puts their own happiness aside and works hard for others. More happiness in giving then receiving. Sure following ones dreams is appealing but not all that realistic in most cases. I personally think this mentality inspires some and yet for other makes then feel empty about the life they have. How to find happiness and contentment in your current life is a mentality that should be shared and applauded. My 2 cents. Thanks for sharing. Got me thinking today. :)

Good point. I think this line of thinking is for people who aren’t happy. Some people don’t want more. They don’t have artistic dreams or desires or dream of being a little baseball coach. This is for those people :)

I loved this video and re-posted on my facebook site and said this with it…I can’t stop watching this. It’s spot on – only wish we never had to consider $ for anything. I’ve been listening and waiting on God’s direction so I’m on His path…making certain I’m not making my own. Though my prayer has been that He make my hearts desire to be what He wants of me. So we are in the same direction/it’s one in the same. Great video to pass the time while I wait. Though I can’t wait too long. If I don’t get more direction sooner than later – I supose that’s where we step out in Faith. :) Certainly not just stepping out on fickle feelings but rather on foundation. For me it’s most important that I am faithful to what I’m supposed to be doing as well but God does give us our passions – this is definately a tough – tough line for me. I want to be sure if I pursue photography which is my passion, that it’s what I am supposed to be doing. I’m accountable for my actions but I can’t let it paralyze me and prevent me from acting. I thank you so much for sharing this and I love your informative site!!!
