Creating apps for your clients using their session images

There’s been quite a lot of buzz surrounding the announcement on my Gracie May Photography Facebook page that my clients can now get an app for their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to see their session images over and over agian. So the question kept coming up “how are you making it?” and I don’t answer insider quesitons on that particular FB page because that’s where I connect with my clients.

But today, I’m here telling you exactly how I make the apps! They’re made with StickyAlbums and they’re fantastic. Truly. Completely. Amazing. Perfect to take your business into the 21st century. Teens will especially love it and the shareability of the app means you will get supercharged word of mouth with a visual twist. I think this may even been nearly as cool as the return you get from tagging your clients on Facebook. StickyAlbums is that awesome of an idea. So have a look at the commercial I made for my Gracie May Photography clients below and head over to StickyAlbums to make an app of your own for FREE!

Love it! But do you charge extra for it?

That sounds fantastic in theory but, are these to people that have purchased your images (without watermark)? Is this a locked app or can they take photos from it and then, do as they please with them? I definitely like the idea, such an amazing avenue for word of mouth, but I think I would be a bit uncomfortable with them possessing the non watermarked photo if they haven’t purchased them.

I am a stickyalbums user and LOVE LOVE LOVE it and so do my clients. One client hounded me for days to get it so she could show her family the photos easily when they were in town.

@51a4be7f0d65f537aec774d0bb432353:disqus  they can’t save the images from the app…and you upload it to the app in low resolution for fasting loading times. I can’t see how they would be able to use them. If you’d like I can send you the app I have for showing clients my portfolio so you can see it “live”

Great! Thanks for sharing this. Will definitely be adding it as a premium add-on to my packages.

Hi! As of now, the app is included in all of my wedding packages and one of my portrait packages. For all other clients, it will be available as a product at their in-person viewing session, but as a freebie when they place an order.

As always, the information you share is invaluable! Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge – this is a great app and I had not known of it!!!!

This is amazing! I’m thinking of it from the client’s perspective and I’m blown away. As a new photographer I want to do what I can to spread the word about my photography. What a great way to have the clients do it for me!

Well that solves my iffy feelings towards it. It seems pretty incredible.  I could really see my senior clients eating this up, and it would be fantastic for word of mouth -visually!

I would love to see it in action, Maria, I’m highly interested. my email is tiffanyhopephoto@yahoo.com

And thank you Elizabeth, once again, for sharing!

As far as I know they can still screen capture images, though that will only be at the resolution uploaded to the app. I’m still considering watermarking them personally, not 100% sure though.
